NIPPI contributes to the world's aircraft manufacturing industry via its rich experience in aircraft development and manufacture as well as the state-of-the-art composite technology.

Established in 1934 before WWII, NIPPI is the only aerospace-specialized company in Japan. Located in Kanagawa Prefecture (on the south of Tokyo), it manufactures aircraft components and space equipment as well as provides MRO/modification services. As such and as a member of the Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (KHI) group, NIPPI is a key player in the aerospace industry.

At its main manufacturing site, Yokohama Plant with composite components as its core business, NIPPI has designed and manufactures flaps, main/nose landing gear doors, fuselage frames, wing ribs, etc. in joint international passenger/freighter aircraft projects as well as has participated in almost all domestic aircraft production programs of Ministry of Defense in Japan.

For space equipment, it has developed proprietary structural extension/deployment technologies based on its engineering/design expertise accumulated in the aircraft business, and has many achievements in providing such mechanisms for antennas and solar cell paddles for nearly every Japanese man-made satellite.

At Atsugi Plant, its MRO hub with large-size hangers equipped with the latest maintenance/support equipment and staffed with skilled mechanics, it provides integrated services from maintenance, repair and overhaul to flight test for a wide range of aircraft for Japan’s Ministry of Defense/Coast Guard and worldwide commercial operators. It is also a proven US military aircraft service station, enjoining a high reputation for over half a century. In recent years, NIPPI is responding to such customer needs on-site at airports, military bases and other locations nationwide as well. To date, its track record has reached over 14,000 aircraft comprising more than 100 types.

By further upgrading our strong suit of business/technical capabilities cultivated through 80-plus years since our establishment and by firming up our core competence, we will continue providing products and services better serving customer needs on more robust foundations.

While the environment around us is changing drastically, the more at such time, we will firmly pursue better “QCD” (quality/cost/delivery) performances, the basis of a manufacturer like us, to grow stronger as a globally trusted and competitive aerospace manufacturer.
